Sean McGilvray is the Director of Legal Affairs and Trust and Safety at Vimeo, the world’s largest ad-free online video platform dedicated to empowering creators.

Sean was the first dedicated Trust & Safety specialist at Vimeo and has since built the department up from a solo act into a large and diverse team of experts. Collectively, they keep the platform, users, and brand safe from risky content across multiple risk vectors, from copyright and trademark infringement to spam and fraud. Before joining Vimeo, he held various positions in trust and safety and intellectual property enforcement at UGC platforms and video game publishers. Sean holds a bachelor’s degree from the Florida State University, and a JD from U.C. Hastings, College of the Law.
